The South African Tswana-Jewish Photographer

a litle about neo

Daughter of a former Coordinator of Intelligence and National Archivist, Neo has always been inspired by her parents fight for freedom in Apartheid South Africa.

Being born to a Tswana mother from Botswana and a white Jewish father from South Africa instilled a sense of curiosity from a young age.

Neo fell in love with Photography in her early university years in South Africa. There was just something special about how light and shadows portrayed an artistic story on the artists subject.

After much deliberation, Neo took the plunge to go after her dreams, moved to the UK, and studied a BA Hons in Photography at the Cambridge School of Art where she obtained a First Class Hons Degree.

Thrown into the working world with much excitement, Neo’s first job was a studio fashion photographer for a boutique designer store in Cambridge, but her dreams were much bigger. She made the move to London and after years of working tirelessly she eventually saved for the camera she wanted and that’s where things got interesting.

Neo has a deep love for music, namely House, Amapiano, Afrobeats, RnB, Hip Hip, Jazz and Soul, and found herself connecting with friends in the music industry and photographing for them. One thing led to another and bang she’s a full-time events/portrait photographer for some of her favourite brands and artists.

Neo has worked with the likes of Nike South Africa, Sportscene South Africa, Grade Africa, Eventbrite international, Footlocker UK, Sony Music UK, Ellesse, Dope Black Dads & Mums, The South African Department of Sports and Arts and Culture, Masego, Soulection, Scorpion Kings, Major League Dj’s, Uncle Waffles, Kamo Mphela, Full Crate, Pianopeople, Amafest and many more.
